Asian Paints has tied up with US based StanChem, Inc. for marketing of their ALBI range of intumescent coatings. Under this agreement, Asian Paints will have exclusive rights to market ALBI range in India and some of its overseas subsidiaries. Asian Paints and its overseas subsidiaries will receive total techno-commercial backup support from StanChem Inc. backed by project case history spread over four decades.

StanChem Inc. is Connecticut, USA based privately held firm. The company has three divisions viz. ALBI Manufacturing, Specialty Coatings and StanChem Polymers.

ALBI Manufacturing division is involved in processing and marketing of intumescent coatings.

Specialty Coatings division manufactures and markets plastisols, industrial sealants and coating related chemicals.

StanChem Polymers manufacture range of emulsions suitable for surface coatings. These emulsions are offered to paint manufacturers in North America.

StanChem, Inc. specializes in intumescent coating technology, which they have perfected over five decades of experience in servicing the rigorous needs of clients.

ALBI brand is well known in the USA and is a familiar brand to most consultants in the field of structural engineering and fire protection.

All ALBI products are UL classified. StanChem subscribe to UL follow up service, which ensures consistency in quality batch after batch. ALBI range of products is suitable for both cellulosic type of fire and for hydrocarbon jet fire.

StanChem's product range includes specialty coatings for electrical boxes, circuit breakers and industrial valves used in refineries, clear coatings for decorative application over brass hardware, lighting fixtures, bronze plaques and statues. Plastisols used in day to day hardware tools. Fire retardant coatings used to protect public places, hospitals, schools et al and specialty inks used in merchandize labels.
