Solitude in Nature is a villa immersed in abundant greens. Meeti & Neeket Topiwala of Fables, a landscape and interiors consultancy in Surat imagined the home as a mix of inside-outside spaces. They call it, ‘an unending visual green treat’ as a water cascade with creepers sprawls over the boundary wall. Indoors, a neutral palette of off-whites and creams, and huge windows balance the romance of the green. Pastel colours, wood and wallpapers from Asian Paint Nilaya underline the experience.

Neutral shades and nature-inspired motifs

Enveloped in greenery, the design uses large windows to tie the indoors and the outdoors. The home decor uses tasteful decor, with a blue and green colour palette inspired by nature.

The villa’s most striking feature is the 25-feet artwork at the entrance that underlines everything this house stands for.

The ‘Rain Dance’ wallpaper by Nilaya Wallcoverings captures the pitter-patter of the raindrops in a quaint reading space meant to enjoy poetry and prose. The wallpaper is in a shade called Intense Ocean – Asian Paints Colour of the Year 2018.

The bedroom is bedecked in blues to recreate the many blues of the seas and skies. Asian Paints Royale Luxury Emulsion sweeps the wall in a seamless white that flows from the wall to the ceiling.

A pop of peach and cheerful coral against the white of Asian Paints Royale Luxury Emulsion reminds one of the fragrant flowers of springs. The bevelled mirror stands glamorous while the cushions add some pep.

The smooth matte finish of the walls is achieved with Asian Paints Royale Luxury Emulsion. This backdrop allows the designers to play with a rich upholstered bed in velvet. Colours are strewn across the room through cushions, curtains and wall art.

While one looks outward at the lush greens, Nilaya’s Forest Expression wallpaper in metallic green brings the outdoors inside. The wooden furniture and flooring perfectly compliments the wallpaper as well as the outdoor landscape.

Forest Expression, a wallpaper by Nilaya, gives a vibrant aesthetic to the bedroom, further enhanced by the use of wood. The upholstery is decked in contrasting colours of spring to further highlight the striking Nilaya wallpaper.

The living room engages in a play of monochromes. Noteworthy, the bluish-grey wallpaper by Nilaya with a cursive handwritten motif, has a playful tone offset by the regal sofa in olive. These shades create a layered experience that abstracts nature.

The hero of the house is the 25-feet nature-inspired wall mural at the entrance. Its colours inspire the interiors of the house. Asian Paints Satin Enamel paint has been used on the underlying wall for a lustrous finish – the perfect blank canvas.

While the house is largely dressed in natural earthy shades, certain pockets are infused with bold contrasting shades. The copper-toned container with the decorative plant is a simple detail that effectively adds a rustic touch to the red bedroom.

The dominant reds and coral here are balanced with a wholesome dose of white. Woods are always a welcome addition, especially the intricately carved table at the foot of the bed. Ethnic accessories in gold and copper suitably compliment the decor.

The pendant light hangs over a sparse dining space with classic mouldings and arches. The attention here is on creating a clutter-free space for the family to come together over food and conversation.

This bewitching black and white wallpaper called Chalkboard, also from Nilaya’s Magnolia Home book, adds enigma and an exquisite backdrop to this nook.

Meeti Shroff Topiwala & Neeket Topiwala of Fables call this villa ‘an unending visual green treat’. To create this feeling of expanse and oneness with nature, they’ve used good design, and an array of wallpapers and interior & exterior finishes.
