Opt for a tiled castle-stone look on walls, and a distressed wood look on floors. If you opt for a wooden floor, make sure you stain it dark.
Concentrate on the windows. If your home is still under construction, you could factor in space for tall, beautiful cathedral-style windows. With their pointed arches and delicate lines, they can add a lot of oomph to your décor. In a ready home too, you can introduce faux windows in the Gothic style as an accent piece on the wall.
Long-stemmed candelabra in black wrought iron are very distinctly Gothic. Add them in as centre pieces. Repeat the look in two or three rooms for more authenticity.
Opt for Gothic pointed-arch designs on furniture panels and cabinets.
Use accessories like mirror frames, tea-light holders and chandeliers in materials like iron, wrought iron, etc.
