This art movement, a representation of the true natural world, gave rise to some of the most graceful and elegant design styles of its time and beyond. Originating in Paris, where even today we can see traces of this design style, this movement moved to London, the entirety spanning from 1880 - 1910. Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Margaret MacDonald were renown designers of this period, to look towards for inspiration on this concept.
This is another concept where craftsmanship is the hero, and exotic woods are used to execute the skills. A prominent feature that one can use in an art nouveau-themed space is the whiplash design. Besides that, direct inspiration from whimsical nature can be used - a wonderful point of reference for which is the works of Antoni Gaudi, the celebrated Spanish architect.
