Located in a premium luxury apartment building in Rajkot, 1901 The Project – a 4BHK has been designed and decorated – by Komal and Bhavin Sheth, principal architects at Intraspace. The architects leveraged the dramatic play of sunlight with the long 19th floor balcony that gives a panoramic view of Rajkot. A unique feature of the house is the customised clock-tower that also acts as a soft partition. The wall mural in the informal lobby area, designed by kalakaarihaath, elevates the space.
The owners of the apartment didn’t want physical partitions dividing the living area. The spaces are made distinct using softer elements like floor or wall finishes. The balcony uses the green turf flooring to differentiate itself.
The bedrooms are complete with rich fabrics, neutral wall finishes, and warm wood accents. Headboards, curtains, ceiling patterns, and wood finishes add splashes of colour that contrast against the otherwise soothing interior colour palette.
In this 4 BHK apartment, one of the bedrooms was converted into a home theatre. The colours used in this part of the home are drastically different from the rest, with dark greys and maroons forming the base of the palette.
Masala Room, a restaurant in Hubli, Karnataka, is inspired by the rich flavours and tonalities found in a typical Indian spice market.
