Taapsee Pannu’s Mumbai duplex is as vibrant and expressive as the actor herself. With standout performances in films like Haseen Dillruba, Dunki and Pink, Tapsee is best known for consistently bringing authenticity and depth to her characters. In Season 8 of Asian Paints Where the Heart Is, we take you on a tour of the thoughtfully designed and highly personalised apartment that she shares with her sister, Shagun Pannu. Influenced by her international travels and Punjabi heritage, the house is a reflection of her warmth and the generous hospitality she grew up with, making it as inviting as it is unique.

The house is sprawled across two distinct floors, each with its own theme but tied together by the thoughtfulness in its design. The lower level is expansive and bright, drawing on vintage European styling with a charming, eclectic twist. White walls and light-coloured furniture create a soft, cheerful aesthetic, enhanced by details like ruffled curtains, plush upholstery and floral patterns that lend a cozy, lived-in vibe. The airy living room, bathed in natural light also features vintage-inspired décor like a large clock on a brick-textured wall. Tapsee likes to describe it as her “Little Europe in India”.

Upstairs, the vibe changes completely. Here, Taapsee has created what she fondly calls “Pannu Pind,” a floor steeped in her Punjabi roots. The design leans on textured walls including exposed brick and carved wood panelling as well as earthy tones that dominate, creating a space that feels rustic and warm. Handcrafted elements, like phulkari upholstery and commissioned Warli art, lend a deeply personal touch, while larger details, such as carved wooden panels that frame the floor-to-ceiling windows and mirror work, add richness to the design.

Each corner of Taapsee’s home tells a story – whether it’s the gallery wall full of mementos from her travels abroad, the artisanal accents like the mini jharokhas from Jaipur that line the staircase or even the functional elements with a creative twist, like the turntable shoe cabinet in her dressing room. This thoughtfulness extends to every design choice, making her home a source of inspiration for anyone looking to create a space that reflects their own journey.
