Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal have made a home that feels wonderfully lived in. It’s their first space together, and from the moment you walk in, you can tell it was designed with one rule: nothing should feel too precious to touch, lean against, curl up on, or dance around.

The penthouse opens into a bright, open living room where tall windows pull the city indoors. The layout is generous without being showy, the kind of space that seems to say, “Come in, stay, wander, talk.” A balcony wraps around the room, blurring the boundary between high‑rise living and the outdoors. Off to one side is the deck, which the couple treats like a tiny escape above the city. The sunken seating—what they affectionately call their conversation pit—seems built for late‑night confessions, morning coffee, and the kind of laughter that doesn’t check the time.

Inside, the living and dining areas flow easily into each other, helped along by fabrics and textures that soften the openness. Sonakshi’s content room, a space she uses to film, has two eye‑catching armchairs and a flamingo lamp that brings a touch of playfulness without disturbing the home’s calm rhythm. It’s the kind of detail she laughs about, but also the kind you remember.

From the beginning, their brief to the designer was simple: everything should be sturdy and easy to live with. No delicate furniture, no careful tiptoeing, no styling that feels like it came with a long list of rules. The home had to be real, not rehearsed. That philosophy is the thread that holds the space together.

The den, which they lovingly call the “New York side,” reflects a more structured, urban sensibility. Glass walls define the area, offering privacy without closing anything off. A deep blue wall anchors the room, giving it a moody, Manhattan feel. Books stack casually nearby, which makes the space seem ready for both reading and simply being.

One of the most personal corners in the home lives here: a custom metal mesh wall where the couple pins travel photos, notes, and little souvenirs collected over time. It’s messy in the best way—an evolving scrapbook that grows as they do.

The master bedroom takes a quieter route. The windows frame the city as though the view were the room’s main piece of décor. Walk‑in closets keep everything calm and tidy, and the overall feeling is one of softness and ease.

They describe the penthouse in two moods. The “New York side” is sharp, clean‑lined, and structured. The “Maldives side” is softer, full of curves, macramé, and gentle light. Somehow, the two coexist seamlessly, the way most couples hope their personalities will.

In the end, what defines this home isn’t the view or the décor. It’s the way it holds life—comfortably, generously, without hesitation. A space that invites people in, lets them stay, and makes them part of the story.
