How to Apply SmartCare Hydroloc Xtreme?
For Damaged Surfaces with Dampness and Efflorescence:
- Step 1: Surface Preparation
- Step 2: First Coat Application
- Step 3: Second Coat Application
- Step 4: Final Coating
- Clean the surface thoroughly using water, strong brushes, and efflorescence cleaners.
- Remove all loose materials, algae, fungus, and painted layers.
- Address live leaks through proper plumbing or crack repairs as necessary.
- Fill surface cracks (<3mm) with SmartCare Crack Seal and repair bigger cracks using polymer-modified cement mortars.
- Apply the first coat with a 10% dilution and ensure a uniform application over the affected area, extending it by an additional foot distance on all sides.
- Allow it to dry for 6-8 hours.
- Apply the second undiluted coat perpendicular to the first for complete coverage.
- Allow to dry for 6-8 hours.
- Apply two coats of Asian Paints SmartCare Waterproofing Putty over the Hydroloc Xtreme surface.
- Allow each coat to dry as per recommendations, and follow regular painting practices thereafter.
For Surfaces in Good Condition (Without Dampness or Efflorescence):
- Step 1: Surface Preparation
- Step 2: Single Coat Application
- Step 3: Topcoat Application
Remove existing putty till the plaster level, ensuring proper cleaning as per guidelines.
- Apply a single undiluted coat over the surface, covering the affected area and an extra foot surrounding it.
- Allow to dry for 6-8 hours.
- Apply two coats of Asian Paints SmartCare Waterproofing Putty.
- Sand thoroughly with 180-grit sandpaper before proceeding with standard painting methods.
