How to Apply SmartCare Damp Block 2K?
- Step 1: Surface Preparation
- Step 2: Mixing
- Step 3: First Coat Application
- Step 4: Second Coat Application
- Step 5: Curing
- Step 6 (Optional): Screeding
- Ensure surfaces are strong, clean, and free from oil, loose materials, or efflorescence.
- Fully cured masonry surfaces are essential before application.
- Fill surface cracks (<3mm) with SmartCare Crack Seal; repair larger cracks or damaged areas with polymer-modified cement mortars.
- Keep the surface in a Saturated Surface Dry (SSD) condition before application.
- Mix 2 parts powder with 1 part liquid gradually while stirring. Use a mechanical stirrer for bulk quantities.
- Stir until a lump-free, smooth slurry is achieved. Allow the mixture to rest for 5-6 minutes to release entrapped air.
- Apply the first coat of SmartCare Damp Block 2K slurry using a brush or roller on SSD surfaces.
- Allow the coat to dry for 4-6 hours (subject to ambient temperature).
- Apply the second coat in a perpendicular direction to the first coat for maximum effectiveness.
- Ensure a coverage of 15 sq. ft./kg/coat.
- Cure the product or overlay screed for 3-5 days to ensure complete cement hydration.
- If the application is on brick surfaces, overlay cementitious screed within 24-48 hours using SmartCare Vitalia for additional waterproofing.
