How to Apply SmartCare Waterproof Wall Putty?
Preparation Steps
- Surface Inspection and Cleaning: Ensure the masonry surfaces are fully cured (28 days for new surfaces) and free from dirt, dust, grease, or other contaminants.
- Fungus or Algae Removal: Use a wire brush to remove any growth. Apply a coat of SmartCare BioBlock for long-term protection against fungus and algae.
- Crack Filling: For cracks up to 3 mm, use SmartCare Crack Seal.
- Pre-Wetting: Pre-wet the surface with clean water before applying the first coat of putty.
Application Steps
- Step One: First Coat
- Step Two: Sanding and Pre-Wetting
- Step Three: Second Coat
- Step Four: Primer Application
Apply the first coat of SmartCare Waterproof Wall Putty using a knife or trowel. Maintain a thickness of 0.5–1 mm and cover the surface uniformly. Allow it to dry for 6–8 hours.
Gently sand the dried surface with emery paper (180 grit) and wipe clean. Pre-wet the surface again before applying the second coat.
Apply the second coat using the same method as the first. Ensure a smooth, even finish. Allow it to dry for another 6–8 hours before proceeding.
Apply a coat of primer, followed by 2–3 coats of emulsion paint after the putty has set completely.
