Pre-painting steps

Sanding

Sand the wooden surface along the grains using sand paper no. 180, and then 320 or 400.

Insulating

Apply 1-2 coats of WoodTech Epoxy Insulator to insulate from oil & resin from the wood, also it reduces absorption of a paint material on Veneer or Plywood & MDF.

Dent filling

If the surface has dents, apply this Filler with a putty knife over the dented area.

How to Apply WoodTech Emporio PU Black?

Pre-Painting Steps

Cleaning: Ensure the wood is clean, seasoned (10–15% moisture), and free from impurities such as dust, oil, or grease. Proper ventilation is crucial, and the application area should be free from contaminants.
Sanding: Sand along the wood grain using sandpaper no. 180 and then finer grits like 320 or 400. Clean the surface to remove all loose particles and dust.
Insulating (Optional): Apply 1–2 coats of WoodTech Epoxy Insulator to reduce the absorption of the paint material on plywood, veneers, and MDF surfaces.
Dent Filling: If the surface has dents or imperfections, apply WoodTech Filler using a putty knife. Allow it to dry and sand the area smooth.

Paint Application Process

Step 1

Apply the first coat of WoodTech Emporio PU Black Sealer, mixing it in a 2:1 ratio with the specified hardener. Use a spray gun for even application. Allow it to dry for 3–4 hours, then sand the surface with 320/400 grit paper.

Step 2

Repeat the process for the second coat of sealer to ensure a smooth and even base.

Step 3

Apply the first coat of WoodTech Emporio PU Black Matt or Glossy Topcoat mixed in the recommended ratios (2:1 for Matt, 1:1 for Glossy). Allow it to dry for 3–4 hours.

Step 4

Apply additional topcoats as required for optimal coverage and a flawless finish. Sand lightly between coats to achieve the desired look and texture.
