Pre-painting steps

SANDING

Sand the wooden surface along the grains using sand paper no. 180, and then 320 or 400. Wipe surface to clean off loose dust particles

If the surface has dents, apply WoodTech Filler with a putty knife over the dented area.

To colour, apply WoodTech Wood Stains Interiors or WoodTech Wood Stains Exteriors by ragging or spraying. Allow to dry for 30 to 120 minutes

How to Apply WoodTech NC Sanding Sealer?

 

Step 1: Cleaning

  • Ensure the wooden surface is free from impurities, dust, oil, and grease.

  • Maintain a wood moisture content of 10-15% to avoid surface defects.

Step 2: Sanding and Insulating

  • Sand along the grain with sandpaper no. 180, followed by 320 or 400. Wipe off any loose dust.

  • Apply a coat of WoodTech Epoxy Insulator for better insulation and reduced absorption on porous wood.

Step 3: Application

  • Mix WoodTech NC Sanding Sealer with A1/A1 Gold Thinner as instructed. Stir thoroughly.

  • Apply the first coat using ragging or spraying.

  • Allow the surface to dry for 30-35 minutes before reapplying.

Step 4: Additional Coats

Continue applying additional coats until the desired level of grain filling is achieved.

Step 5: Finishing

Once the sealer has dried overnight, finish with a compatible topcoat like WoodTech Touchwood or WoodTech PU.
