Archana Puran Singh’s Spanish‑style villa, is a home that came together the way good stories do: slowly, intentionally, and with just the right amount of stubborn hope. It began as two separate bungalows and became one seamless house, a long‑held dream she finally caught up with. Surrounded by a sprawling garden, the villa has lived almost two decades, long enough to gather quirks, soften edges, and settle comfortably into itself.

You enter through the living room, which immediately makes its case for being the soul of the home. It’s large and airy, unfolding across two levels in a way that feels inviting rather than indulgent. The raised platform, holding a bar in exposed brick, moonlights as a stage during gatherings. Archana says this casually, as if every home has a performance area built into it. And maybe hers needed one.

French windows line the space, opening directly into the garden. Light pours in with the enthusiasm of someone arriving early to a party. On one wall, a memory feature created with Asian Paints holds decades of photographs. It tethers the room to the family’s stories the way good walls sometimes do—quietly but firmly.

The dining table sits close to the bar, as though daily life and celebration have agreed to coexist peacefully. The materials throughout the home feel honest: wood, metal, brick, ironwork. Nothing shouts; everything speaks.

A wooden staircase leads you upward while a tall window washes the lower level in soft daylight. Downstairs are the rooms of the eldest son, Aryamann, and the grandparents. Aryamann’s room, put together during lockdown, has an easy charm—striped wallpaper, wooden rafters, a sense of being young without trying too hard.

The house owes much of its cohesion to Parmeet Sethi, who guided it piece by piece instead of forcing a grand plan all at once. The result is a home that feels grown rather than installed.

Upstairs, private spaces open to the garden through balconies. Archana’s office, the master bedroom, and her younger son Ayushmann’s room each borrow a little drama from the greenery outside. Archana’s bedroom, in soft greys and anchored by a classic four‑poster bed, is the family’s unofficial living room. This is where everyone gathers, eats, talks, argues, makes up, and pretends to be busy. She even has a hidden microwave and snack station tucked discreetly into her dresser—proof that comfort sometimes wins over aesthetics.

Ayushmann’s room plays with texture and openness. An exposed brick wall sits behind the bed; a skylight crowns the space. He says it’s best during the monsoon, when the rains turn the ceiling into a private movie.

Through all of it, the home stays rooted in one simple idea: a house is not a showpiece. It is a place where a family moves, grows, and lives in a way that makes sense only to them. And that, more than any design feature, is what makes this villa feel whole.
